The technical issue is that fly ash is predominantly glassy in nature, making elemental extraction chemically intensive (albeit recoverable). The upside is that the USGS lists over 30 elements (obviously in oxidized forms) found in the fly ash, with the predominant actinide being U, so while the concentrations are individually quite low (~10 - 200ppm), all told, it's massive, once you back calculate a positive enough EBITA to satisfy potential VCs. Technically challenging, however...
